It’s back and better than ever, the 100 miles for hope. From April 1 to Sept 30 walk a mile a day and help the legion. There are more options on how to complete this with new challenges. There are now medals, hats and much more to to The American legion to learn more and registration details.
The American legion have been working on making the second annual event even bigger and better. (See the enhanced web page here.)
We listened to your feedback to shape changes for the new challenge. A post-campaign survey supported what we had heard anecdotally throughout the 100 days: participants overwhelmingly wanted to be able to track their progress and have the ability to encourage others to support V&CF on their behalf.
Done and done. The second 100 Miles for Hope will commence on April 1. However, registration is now open. This year, we have new tech shirts, sweatshirts, baseball caps, a pin, a patch for Legion Riders and a challenge coin. All proceeds from these sales go toward the V&CF.
Registration will go through a company called Kilter. We will be using the Kilter app in order to take full advantage of pushing donations toward the foundation. In doing so, we had to make a notable change. Instead of miles, we will be counting activities — walks, bike rides, etc. with a duration of at least 30 minutes. After all, that is among the goals: to achieve that baseline of physical activity daily.
It doesn’t matter whether you walk, run, swim, cycle, use an elliptical trainer or some other form all you have to do is support the legion.
There are nearly 5,000 participants this year and they have raised about $150.000 for the disabled veterans and military families foundations. There is 117 days left for you to oin. you can ust dowwnload Kilter and suport one of the 5,000 participants or you can join in the event it self.
This is the third year for this event as of today wed April 27, 2022 Martin Lawrence of post 407 is 21st and has walked 1525 miles.
